Today I’m writing about the joys of nail art. People use nail art to express themselves, and as a way of showing off their personality. In all of my years of doing nails, I’ve grown and learned tips and tricks of doing nails, and a lot of times, I’ve had to figure out way to do certain nail art techniques on my own by just trying out new ideas.
• For instance, How do you think you can get a glittered design on top of fresh gel polish? wouldn’t the glitter stick to the whole nail when you apply it? Even if you wipe off the sticky layer, it still sticks. Ugh! So I figured out that the surface needed to be matte, or free of any shine or stickiness left by gel polish.
• After trying a few techniques, the best one I found was by cleansing the nails with alcohol and then buffing the entire nail surface with a block buffer. This removed any sticky layer that was left on the nail, which allowed me to paint a design (I generally use Gel paints by Akzenz, and Gelish, Artistic, Gelaze gel polish colors for art designs) and add glitter to it. These art brushes are great for painting designs. I also love the Crystle nails art brush #0, but you need to be liscenced to buy here..
• BTW, I usually cure the painted design prior to adding glitter to it.
• Here is an example of a glitter design done over polished nails.
Do you have a tip for doing a glitter design? Id love to hear it!
